Natural Disaster Phase Detection

  • Analysed the usage of twitter hashtags associated with the natural disaster to identify the different phases of the natural disaster.

  • Dataset consisted of four different hurricanes collected using twitterscraper API.

  • Captured micro and macro features of hashtags using word embeddings to analyze the relation between hashtags in a time frame. Used association graphs to determine co-occurence of hashtags.
